Is CBD Addictive?

Is CBD Addictive?
Is CBD addictive? The answer is NO. CBD is not addictive nor does it get you high in the same way THC does.
In a March 2017 study in the Journal of Drug and Alcohol Dependence. Administering various oral dosages of CBD to frequent marijuana users alone and in combination with smoked marijuana, which contained 5.3% to 5.8% THC.
After analysing the abuse liability profile of CBD compared with an oral placebo and active marijuana, it was concluded that CBD did not display any signals of abuse liability.
Therefore it has been scientifically proven to be non-addictive.
Also, THC when smoked or ingested does not produce the same addiction traits as alcohol or opioids.
However, chronic use of cannabis can induce Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD). The chronic use of cannabis can result in withdrawal symptoms.
Numerous strains of CBD do contain trace amounts of THC but no where near the amount required to result in the type of addiction or withdrawal mentioned previously.
So we can rest assured that when consuming CBD we won’t become addicted or experience nasty withdrawl symptoms.

The Entourage Effect
Part of the reason Full Spectrum CBD Oil is considered to be superior to other CBD oils available is the well publicised – The Entourage Effect.
This term was actually first put in the public domain by 2 Israeli Scientists. Raphael Mechoulam and S. Ben-Shabat. What they actually found was that taking the full natural range of spectrum within CBD – including THC – worked so much better than just consuming a CBD compound that had been isolated.
It is worth mentioning that most oil available on the market today is CBD isolate. This is usually coined as broad spectrum oil, but most of the goodness contained within the plant has been removed.
Back to the entourage effect, not just Raphael Mechoulam (the Israeli scientist from earlier) thinks this is so. Many scientists have now backed up his research and fully endorse the entourage effect as a plausible effect of consuming Full Spectrum CBD Oil.
Full Spectrum CBD Oil won’t make you HIGH
If your wondering if consuming the Full Spectrum of cannabinoids will make you high, they wont. The amount of THC is miniscule. As mentioned above its less than 0.03%.
